Have you started a budget and found that your expenses outweigh your income? Do you need some extra cash to balance things out? Here are a few ideas you might want to check out:
- Ebay has free auction listings now through Feb 8th. That means you can list your items for free, if they sell you pay a small free to Ebay. If they do not sell, you don't owe Ebay anything. Now is a great time to clean out that stuff you think might be worth money and give Ebay a try. It's really easy to set up an auction.
- Try selling things through your local classifieds or on Craigslist which has a fee-free posting. Check with local classifieds to see their posting fees. In Salt Lake City, KSL offers free postings.
- Mystery shopping is another way to earn a little extra cash. You should NEVER have to pay to become a mystery shopper. They pay you....that's the whole point! :) Two great companies I have had experience with are Marketforce and BestMark. Both companies have a list of open shops you search through. Select ones that you want to be assigned to and what location and times work with your schedule. Complete your shop, return home, fill out a survey and upload any receipts, photos or paperwork as needed. You will need a computer, printer and at least a digital camera or camera phone. A scanner would be helpful, but not necessary.
- I just read a post on Money Saving Mom about how Congress enacted legislation that reduces the amount of Social Security taxes we pay from 6.2% down to 4.2%. She suggests we set up an automatic deposit of 2% of our pay checks into savings or toward debt reduction to compensate for the 2% decrease. What a great idea! (for those of you just skimming....we are now getting 2% less taken our of our pay checks, use that 2% toward debt reduction or put it into savings, you shouldn't miss it because up until now you were not receiving it) To read the full article, click HERE.
Thanks for the Ebay tip. I have thought about posting some things on there. Im a new follower.
