Holy Coupons!

We got back from Yellowstone Monday night, so I haven't had a chance to look at Sunday's coupons until this morning.  HOLY COW!!! There were a TON of coupons this week!

I got a Smart Source, Red Plum, News America, Proctor & Gamble, Hasbro Toys and a Moments to Save coupon inserts!

I get 3 paper subscriptions, so I actually got 3 of each insert. woot woot!

Coupon Binders on sale NOW on Back to School Clearance

Back to School items are on clearance right now. Keep your eyes open for 3 ring binders that zip closed. I bought a really cute black, white and yellow one last week at Walmart for $7 regularly $15. I love that is zips closed because I know nothing will fall out when I toss it in the car or in the cart at the store. It even had a small accordion file and a see through pouch in it. My Back to School clearance section was in the Garden department.

Sunday Coupon inserts preview

My sister went to a coupon class last night and came home a "believer". lol

Why should you get multiple Sunday papers? 

COUPONS!!!!  The more papers you get, the more coupons you get!  The Daily Herald comes with BOTH Smart Source and Red Plum inserts.  The Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News only have the Smart Source inserts.  And don't forget the extra Specialty store coupons like Smiths (% off coupons and $25 gift cards with prescription), Michael's and Roberts (40-50% off), Target ($10 gift cards with a filled prescription!), Sports store coupons as well as the sneaky ones they put in the Parade now and then!

Recently there was a coupon in the Parade for a free KFC sandwich with the purchase of a 32 oz drink (a $4 value).   So multiply that by the 5 subscriptions you could be getting of the Sunday paper and you've already saved $20!  That more then makes up for one month of newspapers with that coupon alone!


Another recent example is the Smith's Coupon Event.  Most (not all) of the internet coupons you print off of the internet say right on the top "DO NOT DOUBLE".  When Smith's does their Coupon Event, you want to be ready with coupons that CAN be doubled to maximize your savings.  Some stores have opted out of even taking printed coupons because of counterfeit issues.

Here is a quick breakdown of cost/savings ratio for those of you wondering if it's worth it to order a subscription:

The cost per paper is around $1.00 a week or less.  The average value of coupons in each copy  of the paper is  about $100-$150.  Even if you only used one $1 coupon out of every paper you have paid for that weeks subscription  That means for 5 copies (as an example) you would pay only $5.00 for $500-$750 in coupons a week.  But, there's still almost $750 worth of coupons you could still use for free!

Given, you are not going to use every coupon in your paper.  But if you only used 25% of the coupons that came in one weeks worth of the paper that means the savings would be $125-$187 dollars and it only cost them $5!!! (based on a 5 subscriptions)  WOW - The savings are amazing.
