To make these you will need:
1 plank of 2X4
Some type of saw (I used a table saw)
Sander or sand paper to smooth cut edges
Wooden (or Vinyl) letters
Wood stain or paint
Scrapbook paper of your choice
Modge Podge
Hot Glue Gun
Brown stamp pad (optional)
Ribbon (optional)
Here's how I made them:
- Start by cutting blocks to your desired size from the 2X4 plank.
- Sand the cut edges smooth
- Stain or paint your blocks and letters (if using wood letters)
- Cut your scrapbook page a little smaller then the size of the block so the wood is exposed around the edges.
- Crinkle the paper up, then lightly rub across a brown stamp pad
- Modge Podge the paper to the blocks and let dry
- Hot glue letters onto the blocks. (Tie the ribbon on before you glue them if you are doing ribbon)
*Note, I realized after my first set that I should have taken note of where the letters on the back were at. It's easier to flip the blocks around that have the letters right for the new season. Like when you turn around the "W" in winter there should be an "S" for Spring on the reverse. (hopefully that makes sense)
