Valentines Candy Wreath

It's almost Valentines again, so I thought I'd re-post my Valentines candy wreath! :)

I went to Dollar Tree today and purchased things I needed to make a Valentines Wreath.  Here are my supplies:
1 Wreath. (I was looking for a Styrofoam one, but she said they sold out at Christmas.  I wasn't going to pay for one at a craft store knowing they are only $1 at Dollar Tree!)
1 (4) yard roll of Satin Ribbon (I purchased 2, but only used 1)
3 bags of small conversation hearts (I purchased 5 and only used 3)
2 (at least) BIG sticks of hot glue
Hot glue gun
Begin by wrapping your wreath with the ribbon.  I did this so any area that isn't covered with hearts looks nice and finished. (also because my wreath was wicker, but I would do this if I found Styrofoam too)  I glued down the end, then wrapped it like a candy cane all the way around and glued the other end down.
Decide your pattern and start gluing! I thought about doing a color cordinated one, but each bag has different amounts of the colors in them.  That equaled too much time for me and when it's random people can't tell if you messed up anywhere! :)  I did glue them in a diagonal pattern (see below).  As for colors, I just made sure no 2 colors were together.
glue........heart..........repeat......glue.....heart.......repeat......glue.........heart.......repeat....
Ta-Dah!!!  I think it turned out so cute!
Here's a close up so you can see the pattern:

Wreath $1
Candy Hearts: $3 (3 packages)
White Ribbon: $1
Glue sticks and ribbon were already in my supplies so they were free! :)

Thrifty Total: $5.00

  1. All I need are the candies! That is awesome. I stock up on those styrofoam wreaths when they are in, because you never know when the mood will strike to make a wreath:)

  7. That is so cute but I'm afraid not many would get on the wreath. I'd have to buy an extra bag.

  14. Super cute!! I'm ready to make a Valentine's wreath but haven't had the time, yet. My daughter's birthday party is this weekend and after that is over I'll finally have some free time. I think I'll definitely use your wreath as my inspiration!
